READY TO SERVE

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

ALWAYS WORKING
HARD FOR US.

Protecting Our Children

Beginning in 1999, the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office has had the honor and responsibility of protecting our children while they attend school. My top priority is the safety of our children and I continuously look for tools and resources to better assist deputies assigned to the school district.

We’ve offered active shooter trainings, rapid response trainings, and de-escalation trainings not only to our deputies, but to the teachers and administrative staff of Willis ISD. I am proud to say that the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office has helped create an environment where our schools are ready for any emergency.

My office has also employed a full-time detective who specializes in combatting the online trafficking of children. Through this detective’s work, we’ve prosecuted 165 suspects not only in the State of Texas, but across the United States and even Canada.

Providing Hope and Help in Mental Health Crises

There is a mental health crisis in Texas and our office is doing the utmost to combat it. To help individuals experiencing mental health crises find the care that they need, I created the Crisis Intervention Team. With help from the Precinct 1 Mental Health Division, we’ve responded to over 24,000 requests from citizens for mental health help or crisis intervention.

Our efforts to help and save those with mental health struggles has been recognized across the state, earning the 2022 Texas Association of Counties Best Practice award for the Mental Health Follow-up Program, along with other local awards and accolades.

Promoting Lake Safety

Lake Conroe is one of the highlights of our county, with thousands of outdoor enthusiasts visiting every year. However, for 22 of the past 23 years, Lake Conroe has been named one of the deadliest lakes in the State of Texas. Immediately upon taking office, I collaborated with local marinas to conduct voluntary inspections of boat safety equipment, as well as to standardize electric equipment used in emergencies. We have also purchased a 26-foot all-weather response boat so that rain or shine, we can patrol the lake and respond quickly to those who need our aid. With these initiatives in place, Lake Conroe has seen a decrease in the number of drownings, boating while intoxicated arrests, and boating accidents.

Creating Safer Roads

Millions of vehicles traverse Precinct 1 each year on two major thoroughfares. I’ve dedicated two Motorist Assist Units who respond to stranded motorists including those who have run out of gasoline, have a flat tire, or other minor mechanical malfunctions. With Interstate 45 being named one of the deadliest highways in the United States, it is our goal to lower the number of crashes caused by stranded motorists.

We also participates each year in the Texas Department of Transportation Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) which aims at reducing the number of accidents by providing high visibility enforcement in areas where crashes are prevalent.

Establishing a Positive and Effective Office

Despite staffing being an issue on a state and national level, I have kept the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office fully staffed. I attribute this to our amazingly positive culture that the men and women of our Precinct have fostered. Leadership is contagious, and when you hire natural leaders, employees will grow and thrive no matter the position.

When I first took office, there were over 18,000 active arrest warrants in Precinct 1, but with the hard work and dedication from our office, we have lowered that number to below 5,300. As your Constable, I’ll continue hiring and retaining the most professional, dedicated, and compassionate deputies, as well as training them so that they are always ready to answer your call. My aim is to establish trust within the community through continual public outreach and diligent response to those we serve.
